Boruto: Naruto Next Generations EP 6 – Review

In this weeks episode we get a pretty straight a narrow path. The strange chakra has claimed Shino and he is now directing his rage towards the children. He lures Boruto, Shikadai and Mitsuki into what looks like the forest of death from Naruto Part 1. Setting his insects upon the students the battle begins.

The trio work together in order to bring shino down and when i say work together, I really mean they all just ran away from him. Proving no match in strength compared to Shino’s jonin skill level. Just as they were running out of options Shikadai comes up with a plan to subdue Shino before they all end up dead. But he plans to use Mitsuki has the bait, due to simple fact that he doesn’t trust him. For what reason? Well this episode didn’t really give us a full blown explanation but Mitsuki is indeed “mysterious” and “strange”.

But just like his father Boruto refuses to let his friends get hurt and takes the lead on the final stand. The three carry out their plan and succeed in freeing Shino from the malice filled chakra controlling him. Towards the end of the episode we see a scene with Shino explaining the strange happenings to Naruto and Shikamaru, both who are now concerned that this situation is getting out of hand. So it’s safe to say that the next few episodes will feature more of the adults that we’ve grown up watching in the previous series.

Overall, this episode was great in terms of fight scenes and animation but I still would have liked to see more of Boruto’s eye power. Although we did get to see more of Mitsuki’s power when he used lightning style to take down shino under water, which was amazing. I’m really excited to his development throughout the series. Looking forward to next weeks episode featuring ChoCho (daughter of Choji and Karui).

Score: 7.5/10
